Seven Quick Takes

Can't remember if I've ever participated in this before, but I'm linking up with Jennifer, one of my favorite bloggers, today for 7 quick takes on life in our little corner of the world...

1.
Somebody is really close to walking.  Just look at his happy little face, so proud of himself.  Sweetest 14-month-old in the universe...

Here comes trouble!!

2.
It is so crazy hot right now, nobody wants to go outside.  We have cabin fever in July (sort of like Christmas in July but without the fun and presents and birth of our Savior).  Thankfully, my husband figured out that a 15 minute round of wrestling works wonders to improve behavior of certain male offspring.  Thank Goodness for daddies.

3.

The annual County 4H Fair begins this weekend.  Our house is covered in baked goods and poster assembly supplies, all for projects to be entered for judging tomorrow...

Aaah...  the familiar aroma of rubber cement.  Takes me back to elementary school...

4.
A lifelong dream of mine will be realized on Monday.  We will be the proud owners of a full-size passenger van.  12 whole seats.  I am in Homeschool Mama Carpool heaven.

5.
A sure sign that we're in the smack dab middle of summer (besides the sweltering heat and oppressive humidity) is a houseful of flies.  My children are becoming expert swatters.  So proud.

6.

Two close family members had medical procedures this week, both of which could have had very serious outcomes.  So far, the results look very much on the positive side.  Thankful for that!!!

7.
For the past four weeks, Joy has spent literally all day (9:00-4:00 or later), every day in intensive ballet training.  It has been exhausting.  Today, they wrapped it up with a performance.  She performed Odette from Swan Lake and a variation from Don Quixote.  So beautiful!!  Makes it all worthwhile.  I am definitely looking forward to having her home during the day, though!!  By homeschooling, I am accustomed to having my kiddoes around all the time.  I rather like it that way.

However, yesterday (see #2 above) was one of those days when my husband sent me to my room with a book and a glass of wine for a mommy time out.  We all have our less-than-ideal moments, I suppose...

Happy Friday!!
