32 Years Later

The summer of 1982, my parents took my brother, sister and I on a big out West camping adventure.  It was one of the highlights of my childhood.

5 days ago, we loaded up in our big van with Grandma, Pada, and all of us and set out to revisit many of the same places plus many new sites that are brand new to all of us.

On Day 3, we found ourselves at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD.  When I was almost 10, I dreamed of going into this marvel of agricultural artwork and touristy bling.  My dad drove us by and said it was too expensive to go in.  Devastation.

2 days ago, I learned the truth.  Admission is free.

My dad's confession: "we'll, looks like I got away with that one for 32 years."

Ha!!
