I'm hearing... The baby (ok, he's 2 now) starting to stir, the clock ticking, the birdies. Otherwise, blessed and momentary silence.
post-nap snuggles |
I'm wearing... Jammies. Will put on the yoga pants uniform shortly. We 're hopefully going to the zoo later today, so maybe I'll upgrade to jeans.
In my prayers... MaryEllen, Nikki, some special intentions.
In the 'schoolroom'... We are winding down, finishing some history and science chapters, memorizing one more poem. For the summer, everybody has a new logic/critical thinking book. We'll also carry on with math and do lots of reading. And goofing around.
Record keeping... It's the season for writing year-end summaries for each child. I keep track of their progress, books they've read, character development, etc. Finding uninterrupted time to complete this task thoroughly is sometimes challenging, but I'm sure my husband will be willing to help me out.
a fairy in my tulips!! |
Plans for the week... Another godson's first Holy Communion this weekend! This is our 3rd weekend in a row of celebrating sacraments with godchildren and/or nieces and nephews. Otherwise, it's a fairly normal routine (ie. just as busy as usual).
and another in the daffodils!! |
In the kitchen... we are slowly but surely getting the hang of life with lots of food allergies. A few successes have been: a 'crustless' pizza (thanks for the recipe, Grandma!!), banana bread with a blend of allergen-free flours, quinoa chocolate cake, coconut flour pancakes. If I could get this child to eat yogurt, life would be even better!! :) Overall, we're all a lot healthier!
Baby quotes... Yesterday Baby said, "Mommy says mooooo." In my defense, he also said, "Car says mooooo." He loves to talk about "big cars, trucks, choo choo trains, dump trucks (you get the idea...)." My favorite sentence is "wooka dat big twucks (or buh-fies, etc.)" - translation: look at that big truck!! He's starting to 'count', also, ie. "two, two, two, two..." :)
Have a great day!
