Coyote Tracks

We've been hearing their eerie yelps and howls fairly regularly this winter, but this morning there's proof that they were right outside our house.  All kitties are present and accounted for.  :).

Saturday night, Daddy and 3 of the kiddies bundled up and went on an organized 'coyote howl' night hike.  They learned to identify coyote tracks...  Just in time!

Lenten Progress

To paraphrase one of my favorite blogger/authors, the best way to teach your children about Lent is to live it with them.

So, we have some extra purple in our house, we're praying together, and taking everybody (including Crash) to Stations of the Cross on Friday nights.

Here's how that's going (2 recent facebook posts from my dear husband who has been chasing a certain someone at the back of church):

Low lights from stations of the cross with Crash:
"Jesus bonked his head on the cross"
"Dad, you are a really old man"
"Dad, close your eyes and turn around so i can run away"
"St. Patrick loves me"...
"Daddy take off your glasses so I can hit your cheeks"
"Goodnight Daddy. Go to sleep Daddy"

Goodnight indeed sweet Prince. Enough Penance for one night.

Low lights from 2nd Sunday of Lent with Crash:
" Jesus, you better not get in trouble or they will put you on the cross"
" Jesus, you better not get in trouble or you wont get to eat pizza"
"Poor Jesus! He didn't get any pizza"
"Jesus didn't die on the Cross. Jesus died in the bathtub"...
"Daddy, I just broke your nose" (after head butting me)
Dear Lord help me.
