Last weekend was eventful.
We had a ballet performance, family reunion, and company spending the night at our house.
What should I discover at 4:45 on the Friday of a holiday weekend but a flood in our basement.
The problem was the demise of our septic pump. That meant everything going down the drains in our house basically had nowhere to go. Yuck, yuck, and triple yuck.
So, we started calling through the numbers in the phone book hoping to find anyone at all who could help us out. Many were not answering or were unavailable because they were already out of town for the weekend. Finally, we found a company willing to come over at that late hour.
After they had corrected the problem, the technician let us know that his initial reaction was to tell us to go to a hotel and wait for him to come out on Monday.
Then, he found out that we have 5 kids.
" I just couldn't leave you hanging," he said.
If that's not an example of extreme kindness and mercy, I don't know what is.
God bless you, Mr. Septic Repair Man. May your reward be great in Heaven.
